the Winners super market ,different local shops
and the small planters also who sell their
produce-fruits and vegetables directly to you.
In Trou aux biches there is Popo

In Mauritius,there
is no monopoly in the transport system.Bus,
however remains very practical and is the cheapest mode of
conveyance for small trips, though you can travel round the island
by bus. There are many buses plying on the road
and the price is unbeatable as it is subsidized
by the government.
In the Mauritian bus you have the driver and
the conductor to whom you pay your fare and it is he that hands over
to you your bus ticket for your ride. Within less than one euro you
may travel 15 km. It is not
expensive !!!!!!!!!
unless you prefer to walk or go trekking..
The bus stop as well as the taxi stand are
80 metres from the residence.
The buses have to pass
via Mon Choisy and Trou aux Biches
before heading to Pamplemousses
and towards Port Louis,the
capital city which is 18 km
from here ( 25 minutes journey by
bus ).In the other direction ,
it is the north of the island towards
Pointe aux Canonniers, Grand Baie,
Pereybère and the far pavilion - Cap
Malheureux.

You also have the possibility of renting a
car at the airport or at Trou aux biches and Mon Choisy.
Compare the prices-
as the price is not fixed.
Driving is generally on the left and if
you wish to make the most out of your holidays you are advised
to go for a chauffeur driven car to avoid the botheration of
driving, looking for places and on top of all to avoid speed and
parking fines. This will leave you with ample time to yourself,
to admire the country side and to use the driver as your guide
while visiting picturesque sites and he also keeps an eye on
your personal belongings from onlookers.
In short, it is
a taxi car
with a chauffeur who will drive you
around if you wish to go everywhere. The price is just few
hundred rupees more as compared to a rental car. But with a
rental car you are more independent as you are free to move at
your pace.
